Finding time to create an efficient structured content marketing strategy can be challenging without the use of an agency. Content creation is always the biggest drain on time, often taking many hours to create before being a ‘one time use’ action, that may not always produce results that parallel its creation efforts. Re-purposing your content though is an effective way of making best use of the resources you have. Not only can it be effective in principle but also in the way you think about content and potentially structure marketing campaigns around it.

What is Re-Purposing?

It’s what is says on the tin. Using content for one main reason, but then re-purposing that existing content to further support your marketing.

How do I do it?

It’s simple, you can break down the content that you have into smaller pieces of content that fits to you markeitng strategy. For example, it helps you attract potential customers and generate leads.

Give me an example

Say you run a webinar on internet security, you can re-purpose this in many ways:

- Create a blog using the key five points of the talk.

- Record the webinar and put that on you website behind a form, which customers will have to complete to download

- Upload the webinar as a video to YouTube,  or a selection of shorter videos over social media

It’s all about finding different ways to use what you have to get the biggest reach possible.

Can we have another easier example?

Sure. Create a really good infographic on why you should have a professional business sign. You upload this on social media and your website and its performance is good. What else can you do with it?

- Create a flyer and physically market this

- Run and email marketing campaign to promote this to your email list

- Create a blog around the infographic and promote this on your website

- Create a three point list of the content of your inforgraphic and share this

Overall, it’s about getting the most out of your efforts. Re-purposing content is an easy way of making you hard efforts and marketing successes stretch further.
